About our Meetings
When and Where
The club generally meets on Wednesdays four times each month from September through May. Two meetings are virtual and the other two are usually live but also virtual when possible. In months with five Wednesdays we get a week off. On months with three Wednesdays we patiently wait for the fourth.
For the live meetings, we meet at the Valley Art Association Gallery: 2022 Main Street in beautiful downtown Forest Grove. (It's a terrific gallery! If you haven't visited you should check it out. You should check it out even if you have visited.)
In September, October, April and May the meetings at Valley Art start at 8pm. All other meetings start at 7:30.

Education Night
The first Wednesday of the month is Education Night, featuring an array of topics and approaches but all intended to help members figure out this whole photography thing. This meeting is always virtual.
Competition Night
The second Wednesday is our Competition Night, where we go through the month's results from the judges. Judging is usually done by another camera club, but occasionally we judge ourselves. This meeting is held at Valley Art, and is hybrid when possible.

Clinic Night
The third Wednesday is Clinic Night, built around round-robin anonymous image critique: interested parties can submit a couple of images for evaluation by the group, and everyone gets a chance to critique (or critique the critique). Clinic is foundational for the club and has been going on for 70 years. The club has a strong focus on learning to make better images, and the constructive, collaborative feedback and fascinating discussions at Clinic are key to member success. This meeting is always virtual.
Program Night
The fourth Wednesday is Program Night, featuring internal speakers, club programs, external speakers, and the occasional workshop. This meeting is usually at Valley Art and often hybrid, but it depends on the program. External speakers for example may be virtual, and workshops are live-only.

Annual Banquet
At the end of the year we hold our annual banquet, usually a weekend potluck in early June, to celebrate the year's images and successes.
