Strutting My Colors, by William Lensch
The club is a member of the Columbia Council of Camera Clubs (the 4Cs), which covers all of Oregon, parts of Washington and Idaho, and a teensy nip of California. Both the club and individual members participate in competitions sponsored by the 4Cs.
FGCC is also a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA), and competes in the club competition for color images that it sponsors.
2025-2026 Monochrome Image of the Year
Contemporary Youth, by Howard Bruensteiner
The club has a distinguished history. From 1958 to 1983 it hosted the Oregon Trail Salon, a well known PSA-sanctioned competition that drew thousands of entries, and, in the early 1960s, also pioneered the practice of two-projector programs synchronized to music as a way to display the images accepted in the salon. The operation required four members, and the team traveled around the country performing the shows.
These days we are not globe trotting or inventing much, but we continue to work hard at making better images.
