Those Darn Rules
Yes, we have some rules-- around competition, of course:
Competition is open to members in good standing.
A max of four images may be entered in each competition. They may be any combination of Traditional, Monochrome, or Creative.
All images entered must be the original work of the competitor, and at least three of the entries may not be more than five years old. Members for medical reasons can be given a waiver by the board. Each image should be significantly different from other images shown during the year, and cannot be submitted more than once.
All competition images are digital. Digital is defined as any image that was arrived at through digital technology, whether or not it was taken with a camera. (Translation: scanner images are okay. AI-generated images or elements however are not.)
Entries must be: jpg format using the sRGB color profile, a maximum of 1920 pixels horizontally, and a maximum of 1080 pixels vertically.
File name must use the following format: <image number>_<MakerName>_<ImageTitle>_<category indicator>.jpg
...where the image number determines the order of showing and the category indicator is T for Traditional, M for Monochrome, or C for Creative. No separators (like space, dash or period) in the name or title, please; just capitalize each word.
Example: 1_JaneDoe_APrettyFlower_T.jpg
Send images via email to the Competition Chair no later than midnight on the 1st Wednesday of the month.
The highest scoring image(s) for each category will be declared the winner.
Any image scoring 18 or more points may not be entered again in club competition.
Year-End Competition
A maximum of 10 images entered in monthly competition for that year will be eligible for the year-end competitions. Entries must be submitted in the original category and without modification.
Recognition will be given to the 10 photographers scoring the highest total for the top 32 scores for the year. The person with the most points will receive the "Photograph of the Year" award.
